The Most Important Decision

Making the decision to follow Christ is, without a doubt, the single most important decision a woman will ever make in her life.  Her entire life, her future, her eternity is all determined by this single decision.  The good news is that making this decision is as simple as A-B-C:

AAdmit that all is not well between you and God. Although you are not a "bad" person, His standards are higher than you can reach. As the Bible says clearly, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," (Romans 3:23, NIV).  We cannot go through this life thinking that being "a good person" is all it takes.  The incredible sacrifice of Jesus Christ is far too important for this to ever be true.

BBelieve that this situation can be turned around, due to the enormous sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. He took our place, and bore the punishment we deserved, because he knew we wouldn't be able to "...He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn't been so weak, we wouldn't have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him." (Romans 5:6-8, The Message)

CCall out to the Lord for His forgiveness and acceptance. Tell Him honestly that you want to be changed on the inside. As the Word promises, He will graft you into His family tree if you stand by faith!  Just ask - He won’t ignore you, He will welcome you. In the words of the ancient prophet Joel, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved...there will be deliverance..." (Joel 2:32, NIV)

In a world where appearance can sometimes be everything,  a woman might feel that she needs to clean herself up a bit before saying these life-changing ABC's.  God doesn't want you to do that.  He doesn't need a fancy dress, or your best make-up and hairstyle.  He just wants you.  He died for you.  All the hard stuff has already been done.  All you have to do is let Him know that you're ready for a relationship with Him!  You can use the ABC's above or your own words.  It doesn't have to be a formal speech - just an honest one!
